Congratulations On The Completion Of The Longest Tunnel Of Guangzhou Beijiang Water Diversion Project

On September 14, 2022, the No.4 tunnel of the Beijiang Water Diversion Project in Guangzhou was fully completed. The project was undertaken by the China Railway 18th Bureau and is an interconnection infrastructure project in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area.

The tunnel with a total length of 11.4 kilometers is a key and difficult project of the whole project, and it is also a key node project. The construction length accounts for 72.6% of the total length of the entire project. It has the characteristics of hard rock layer, large buried depth, long distance and high pressure.

The tunnel project has been excavated since September 7, 2020. It is constructed by the first new open tunnel boring machine (TBM) with the smallest driving section, the largest system integration, and the highest level of customization and personality in South China. Litian produced and supplied TBM disc cutters for this project, and cooperated with TBM to create a good result of the highest daily footage of 47.07 meters, the highest monthly footage of 701.68 meters, and the average monthly footage of 460 meters.

In addition to supplying TBM disc cutters, Litian also provides cutting tool maintenance and technical guidance services. Our field service personnel carefully inspect the wear of each disc cutter every day, make scientific and reasonable technical analysis, and make active efforts to prolong the service life of TBM disc cutters and improve the efficiency of rock breaking. During the excavation period, the quality of Litian disc cutter was stable, and the overall number of cutter changes was small, which reduced the cost of excavation and won the appreciation of the project department.
